Building strong agencies for future challenges

Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management: Homelessness and Housing

London South Bank University (LSBU) and London Housing Foundation (LHF) have worked together to develop a part-time postgraduate certificate for up and coming senior managers working in the homelessness and housing sector.

Starting in January 2015, the course was originally designed with homelessness agencies in mind, but LHF’s Board decided to widen the intake to include local and central government. Since 2017, we have allocated up to four places for candidates from local authorities and one from central government, the remaining 13 places for candidates from voluntary agencies.

The course provides senior managers and aspiring leaders working to address homelessness with vital organisational and leadership skills and counts towards continuing professional development.

We are delighted that the first three cohorts completed the programme with outstanding results and extremely high pass rates including a number of distinctions and merits. These are a great set of grades and we congratulate all the participants. The course has evolved over the first three years and final feedback has been excellent. Cohort 4 has completed the course and we await their results.

Andrew Summers, the LSBU Course Director said “I can’t recall an examination board ever before awarding everyone in a cohort of this size a merit or distinction. This reflects the calibre of participant and the effort they put in. The group were a pleasure to work with. They have clearly gained considerably from the programme and are all to be congratulated.”

The 2019 course is now closed for applications
