Getting Help
London Housing Foundation (LHF) does not provide direct housing support to individuals, please see the information below to get help from external services.
If you are at risk of or experiencing homelessness contact your local council’s housing options service. Find out more for London areas using the LHF Atlas Housing Options map. For outside of London visit this page.
Shelter Emergency Helpline
This is a national service for those experiencing housing problems and homelessness. There is a free phone helpline 0808 800 4444 as well as advice via the website.
Day Centres
If you are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness, it may be helpful to contact a local day centre. Day centres usually work with people who do not have children living with them.
You can look these services up on the Homeless Link website. If you are London based, the LHF Atlas of Homelessness Services provides a map of day centres which can be accessed here.
Streetlink
If you are currently rough sleeping or you are concerned about someone who is sleeping outside, you can contact Streetlink.
Citizens Advice
Get advice on housing and homelessness via their free helpline 0800 144 8848 or website. They also have local offices.
