London Housing Foundation and London South Bank University invite applications for post graduate certificate in housing and homelessness.
London Housing Foundation sponsors a unique one-year part time post graduate course in leadership and management for the housing and homelessness sector provided by London South Bank University.
Since 2015, over 100 managers in homelessness services from over 40 organisations have enrolled on the course, which covers:
- Leadership and Management
- Finance for Non-Finance Managers
- Organisational Development
- Governance, Risk and Ethics
Students gain a post graduate qualification from the School of Business at London South Bank University.
Yvonne Scott Henry is an Area Manager from ThamesReach and graduated from the course. She said:
It is very relevant. It opened my eyes, allowed me to scrutinise and challenge my organisation. I am more confident to progress and I am much better at what I do now; I can help Thames Reach to grow.
Becky Rice is the LHF Course Director. She said:
The course has gone from strength to strength and we are seeing excellent results. Students tell us that they not only benefit from the academic work, but also develop networks of learning and support that continue long after they have graduated.
Graduates of the course are also eligible for ongoing professional development from LHF and travel bursaries. And employers benefit by gaining accredited expertise and enhanced confidence in middle and senior managers and see new motivation for staff.
London Housing Foundation fund the majority of the fees to ensure access is not restricted for those who would benefit and to ensure smaller organisations can refer staff as well.
