Research Projects
How we support
LHF supports selected research projects to help build the evidence base for changes which will benefit people facing rough sleeping
The focus is on small scale, targeted research relating to areas of particular concern to LHF.
In 2021 LHF funded a rapid evidence review into preventing homelessness amongst former prisoners in England and Wales, based on concerns raised by the services LHF works closely with. Other research that LHF has supported includes ‘Evaluating new approaches to Roma rough sleeping in Westminster’ (2023).
LHF also occasionally supports small internal research exercises to help organisations we are working with dig into an area further; this is often to help develop a project proposal or specification. Examples are assisting with gathering beneficiary feedback and exploring further the needs of migrants and refugees accessing a service.
